Anthony Daniels, Chairman of the GBBCLetter from the Chairman
Tony Daniels

Dear Friends,

It is with mixed emotions that I inform you that I have resigned my Chairmanship and Board Membership of the Greater Boston Business Council effective March 31 st.

It has been a wonderful experience. I have had the opportunity to serve you and our community. I hope that I have done well by you.

I leave the GBBC stronger, bigger and poised to be even a greater community resource.

We are the 6 th Largest Chamber of Commerce in Massachusetts. We are counted amongst the largest GLBT Chambers in the country.

We have grown, without outgrowing ourselves. We have remained steadfast in our commitment to deliver consistent value.

Soon you will see the new, improved GBBC, fresh with a new logo and website that promises easier navigation and more useful tools. You will soon hear about a GLBT Travel Campaign geared to bring GLBT tourism to Boston.

I have been promised that this year’s Annual Boat Cruise will be the best ever.

My departure has been two years in the planning. The timing is right. I leave the organization on sure footing and with a stellar reputation.

I am proud of our accomplishments and our partnerships. I am most proud of our work with the North Shore Music Theatre as well as with The Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center.

I am excited for our partnership with the Boston Ballet and the outstanding growth it has shown within a few short months.

I would like to thank all of our sponsors. Without their generous help we could not be here. I want to send a special THANK YOU to my dear friends at Intersystem of Cambridge, and to Ken Obert and Patrick Sorge and their team at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Boston.

Most importantly, I would like to thank you for the most challenging and rewarding assignment of leading the GBBC. I will value the experience; I will cherish your support; and I will be sustained by the memories.

It is with my great gratitude and my full confidence that I leave Caroline Gaffney, the new President of the GBBC, and her fellow officers - John Cunningham, Frank Addonizio and Anthony “Tony “ Rich. It has been my pleasure to serve alongside talented and skilled professionals; not just the officers but the entire Board of Directors. I count them not just as colleagues but indeed as close friends.

I ask you to place the same trust and confidence in them, and to pledge your support to their leadership.

Thank you and Good Bye,

Tony Daniels
