Adventure Racing
If you are interested in Adventure Racing, you're in the right place! ACSA regularly participates in races, and has many race training activities every year. ACSA Adventure Racing Coordinator Tony Rico is a veteran racer, and several of our teams have finished very well in various races throughout the state and at Nationals. For more info about ACSA and Adventure Racing, contact Tony at Tony99rico@aol.com.
What is Adventure Racing? Adventure Racing is similar to triathlons, but are more "off-road" in nature. They are team races instead of individual. Everyone on the team, usually 2 to 4 people, must stay within a prescribed distance of each other throughout the race, and all must finish together. A typical race will include trail running, mountain biking, trekking/orienteering, kayaking and mystery events. Mystery events are not revealed until you reach that stage of the race, and can be activities like carrying a team member a certain distance, scaling a wall, crawling under ropes, swimming, an obstacle course, or almost anything else that can be thought up!
We also participate in other types of race events like triathlons, canoe races, mountain bike races, etc.
